Aside from the popular balut (half-hatched ducked eggs), the Philippines is also home to more than a hundred delicacies. To taste all of them means you also have to travel to those places where these are found.

Depending on where you have chosen to stay, delicacies vary from one region to another, but the most common of these which can be found in many places are rice delicacies such as suman, bibingka, puto bumbong, kalamay, biko, kutsinta, palitaw, and the list goes on and on.

Regional delicacies depend on the kind of agricultural products a region produces. Mandaue City, in Cebu, has the famous masareal. Carcar City is famous for its chicharon and ampaw while Talisay City is famous for its lechon baboy.

Some towns name their festivals after their delicacies, like the Budbod Kabog Festival of Catmon and Tostado Festival of Santander.
